On November 2012, global digital technology giant Google joined hands with Potential.Com to develop the Tourism Industry in MENA by creating a unique, interactive workshop with the theme, “Reach New Clients & Expand your Travel and Tourism Business.” The seminar, aimed towards prominent travel and tourism brands, was held at the luxurious Sofitel Dubai Jumeirah Beach Hotel and was attended by a delegation of senior executives from the major names in the regional travel industry.
Featuring speakers from Google and Potential.Com, the seminar touched base on the impact of the internet on modern-day business. Among the highlights were:
- The Effect of Internet on Tourism and Travel Businesses
- Creating Effective Online Campaigns
- Strategies to Boost Traffic and Sales
- Building & Amplifying the Brand’s Reputation
- Assessing Marketing Spend Performance
- Travel and Tourism Trends
The Lecturers’ intent was to inspire the respectable audience with best practices in the online tourism industry, helping them amplify their brand as well as maintain their existing pool of clients.
“With the rapidly evolving Travel and Tourism industry in the Arab World, an increasing number of industry executives are realizing the need to adopt new strategies to strengthen their positioning and raise the profile of their entities and services,” shares Shadi Banna, Managing Partner of Potential.com. “Building on these needs, we are pleased to partner with Google on this major initiative that aims to highlight to Travel and Tourism chief executives key tools to advance their businesses and to provide marketing professionals in the industry with the know-how to create and manage a successful marketing campaign in order to reach more clients in a cost effective manner.”
“Our role,” Mr. Banna adds, “has always been to assist SMEs (Small Medium Enterprises) to tap into the developing market potential in the region and internationally by providing free seminars, conferences and webinars to our growing 4,000-strong list of participants in over 29 countries.”
Google, in return, conveys it’s thoughts through Marie de Ducla, Industry Head Travel of the Gulf Region: “Through its partnership with Potential.com, Google will highlight to attendees at the Seminar the value of effectively communicating with their existing and prospective clients, to better increase their sales revenue, and to effectively manage direct information to their stakeholders, in light of the rapidly increasing competition in the Travel and Tourism industry.”
This seminar was part of Potential.Com’s SME Evolution program, an educational scheme made to nurture local businesses and develop each brand’s potential in the online world.
